Harry Potter Things to do in New York City

Props as always to Sara Funky for digging up some wonderful Harry Potter activities such as this one in our home base here in New York City which is of course why this site is called Harry Potter Fan Club NYC. Here is one such experience:

The Wizard School Scavenger Hunt:

Hogwarts is supported by magic (unable to be maintained or constructed by any other means) and a good example would be the moving staircases and disappearing rooms (The Room of Requirement). Exploring the Met on a Harry Potter scavenger hunt will make you feel as if you’re following the mysterious footsteps that wander around Marauders Map. On this 1.5 hour challenge, you’ll search for art that echoes characters, places, and enchanted objects in the famed Harry Potter books and movies.

Timeout Magazine Potter Exploration

In Timeout Magazine which is a staple of New York City, they revisit the eight Harry Potter experiences they recommend here in NYC. Whether or not you were able to score tickets to Broadway’s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (their theater critic listed it as one of the best Broadway shows), NYC offers plenty of other ways to experience J.K. Rowling’s spellbinding stories. From museum tours at the best museums in NYC to bar specials a couple of the best bars in NYC, these are the top ways to get your Potter on which you can check out here.

All Things Harry Potter

As I have mentioned prior in this blog, my 11 year old daughter loves all things Potter as she plows through the series, always reading the book BEFORE seeing the movie because she feels that the books are far superior to their cinema counterparts and often leave out a lot of the good stuff.
